Terms of service and privacy

KE WiFi Cloud is operated by Cycom Africa, Nairobi, Kenya. This is a summary written in plain language. Have it reviewed by your lawyer before relying on it.

1. The service

We host billing software for WiFi hotspot and PPPoE businesses ("you"). You are responsible for your network, your routers, your customers and your compliance with the Communications Authority of Kenya licensing rules.

2. Payments from your customers

Your customers pay you directly through your own Safaricom Daraja app and till or paybill. You must hold your own M-Pesa business account and follow Safaricom's terms. We do not hold or settle customer money.

3. Subscription

After the free trial (14 days) the plan you chose is billed monthly in advance. We send reminders before renewal. If payment is late there is a 3-day grace period. After that the admin is locked until payment. Customers who already paid keep their internet, and the portal keeps selling for 7 more days.

4. Data protection (Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019)

For your customers' personal data (phone numbers, usage, browsing activity if you switch it on) you are the data controller and we are your data processor. We process it only to provide the service, keep each business's data separate, encrypt credentials at rest, and delete activity logs after the retention period you set (30 days by default). You must tell your customers what you collect, for example with the portal privacy notice. You also need a lawful basis for it and must register with the ODPC where required.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the service for unlawful interception, spam or fraud. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or the shared server.

6. Cancellation and your data

You can stop at any time. On request we export your data (CSV) or delete it within 30 days of cancellation.
